Description
The Schisandra plant is an evergreen climbing plant that comes from the star anise family.
In northeastern China and in Korea and Japan the Schisandra plant reaches a height of up to eight meters.
Processing:
- When the berry has a deep red, ripe colour it is harvested
- Uses a gentle drying process at low temperatures
- The raw food product is produced without any additives
Types of tastes you experience with the berry:
- Sweet
- Sour
- Bitter
- Salty
- Savoury
Also known as the five-flavour-fruit.
Use:
- An ideal snack on its own or as an addition to cereals and fruit salads
Preparation for tea:
- Pour 1 cup teaspoon into each cup. Add boiling water and steep for 5 to 10 minutes.
Notes:
- Not suitable for children under 10 or pregnant and breastfeeding women.
