Description
The powder is derived from the large branches of the bloodwood tree, and thanks to the contained haematoxylin, it has intensifying colouring properties. This substance is in actual fact colourless, however, when it comes into contact with moisture and oxygen it transforms into the intensifying colourant haematin.
When used on its own the powder gently lays on the keratin of the hair and gives it a light amber shade. If mixed with other plant dyes, especially red henna, it gives off a chestnut-copper shade on dark brown hair, while offering excellent grey coverage.
Application:
Mix the powder with other plant dyes, such as red henna, for best results. However, it can also be blended with nutshell powder or the hazelnut brown shade. When bloodwood tree powder is mixed with chamomile, it results in a dark, warm blonde.
Note:
It is not advised to use the pure bloodwood tree powder on its own, as a more inhomogeneous paste is formed that makes it more difficult to apply. Therefore it is recommended to use the powder as an additive instead.
