Ölmühle Solling Organic Wok Oil

This native organic wok oil consists of a mixture of organic peanut oil and organic coconut oil. The peanut oil consists of about 25% saturated and 60% monounsaturated fatty acids (oleic acid); the coconut oil contains about 90-92% saturated fatty acids. Mixing the two oils results in a wok oil that can safely be cooked at hot temperatures, with the flavor benefits of coconut oil. The mild, natural coconut flavor and the smell from the wok oil refines Asian dishes. The wok oil is also suitable for Ayurvedic cuisine.

The peanuts come from the Shandong Province / People's Republic of China. The coconuts are from Sri Lanka; of course both are cultivated organically and harvested fresh.

The oil is ideal for salads, steaming vegetables, roasting or cooking in a wok (or pan). The wok oil is also ideal for searing meat, poultry and tofu. Use caution when deep frying: the oil mixture foams over readily when cold foods or foods with a high water content are fried in it. The mild, natural coconut flavor is transferred to the food and gives the dishes a typical Southeast Asian touch.

Please note: the wok oil tends to solidify in the bottle due to the composition of the oils. This does not mean that there is anything wrong with it! Coconut oil is naturally solid when the temperature dips below room temperature. Consider storing in a warm place for easier use. Should the oil become too firm, simply place it close to a heat source until it becomes liquid again.

Tip: If the oil is too firm, remove the pour spout, it will be easier to pour the bottle.
